Ruth was incredibly welcoming and easy to work with. My fiance and I were planning a quick 6 month engagement and we missed the open house where couples get to try the catering, sample cakes, and look at all the decor, and Ruth gave us a complimentary lunch and cake tasting at their restaurant. She was extremely helpful in envisioning our perfect day. The Barn at Boone's Dam is an incredible package for one of the best prices I had found!

Sat, Sept 18. My daughter had her wedding at The Barn. It was beautiful! The grounds are perfect for an outdoor ceremony! Due to COVID concerns, she opted to use the tent. It was just lovely: tables, centerpieces, everything my daughter had asked for and more. Ruth and her staff truly do an amazing job. She has thought of everything. Well except form one thing: Just before cutting the cake, the skies opened up and there was a horrific downpour. While we were feeling a little soggy, Ruth went into overdrive and within 15 minutes tops, the entire wedding was transported inside the barn. Except for some puddles, no one noticed and the party resumed. I want to personally thank her for everything she did that day. I would highly recommend The Barn at Boones Dam to anyone. The staff was wonderful! And so is Ruth!

Thanks to Ruth and her staff at the Barn at Boone’s Dam, we were able to have the wedding of our dreams. When the pandemic hit, we ended up having to postpone our wedding from June 13 to September 5th, and Ruth worked with us and stayed in contact with us every step of the way. The venue is gorgeous, inside and out, and their food is absolutely incredible. The mini grilled cheese with tomato soup shots are a must have!!! We couldn’t be happier with how our wedding day went and are so grateful we chose the Barn at Boone’s Dam for our special day!

Ruth and her staff are absolutely fantastic! We had the perfect wedding day and did not have to worry about a thing! Ruth and all the staff at the Barn at Boones Dam were wonderful, the services they provided us throughout our whole wedding process were simply amazing. They were willing to do all they could to make things easier for us in planning our big day. I couldn't have asked for anything better. Ruth was an excellent hostess and made everything fall into place for us, I wouldn't complain about one thing. all the staff during the ceremony and reception were also great. they joined the party and enjoyed themselves just as our guests did. We're truly happy with how everything fell into place.

As wedding florists ourselves who have had the privilege of working at many venues in central Pennsylvania, there was no hesitation as to where we wanted to have our wedding celebration and champagne brunch the day following our wedding. We had incredibly high expectations for the Barn at Boone's Dam and they surpassed the same. Ruth (owner and manager), Patrick (owner and executive chef), and Melody (event coordinator) are incredibly detail oriented and results focused. Having them handling the details of our day allowed us to enjoy every moment of our celebration. In the capacity of our own business, we have interacted with hundreds of couples and those that have their celebration at the Barn at Boone's Dam consistently comment afterward it was perfect. We now join this group and reiterate that every single thing about the venue, the food and the service was PERFECT. Thanks a million- we wish there was a rating higher than 5!

We had our wedding here back on October and I'm just getting around to writing a Yelp review. Overall, my wife and I had a wonderful experience dealing with Ruth and everyone at The Barn at Boone's Dam, and our wedding day was beautiful and lots of fun.
We decided to have a vegan wedding, and Ruth was very accommodating in terms of offering options and also allowing us to tweak those options to suit our tastes and needs. Since people getting married supply their own alcohol, we were able to a) save quite a bit of money (no liquor, and seriously, Trader Joe's has great wine, people!), and b) customize our wedding to reflect our personalities (we love beer, and instead of Mac's Macrobrew, we served Kölsch and Oktoberfest from Marley's, an in-town brewery).
Ruth was great at helping out with ideas for decorations and color-schemes, and she provided lots of options. She also was great at anticipating potential snags in advance of the wedding day. Plus, she was very relaxed with the space and let us in days before the wedding so that we could assemble our own flower arrangements.
The only negatives we had were: 1) It rained a day or two before our wedding, and the tap water at the Barn was extremely sulfuric and borderline undrinkable (so try the water in advance and think of supplying your own). 2) Right after we got married servers were waiting with drinks for us, but they didn't have any food and we were starving! We did photos after the wedding, so my wife and I didn't have any time to go to the cocktail hour. There were Hors d'oeuvres at our table when we sat down, but we would've appreciated having some while we were waiting to be announced. (So make sure to explicitly arrange to have food if you get hungry!)
Even with these negatives I still have to give them a five-star review because the quality was that good. The wedding was picturesque and went smoothly, our reception was so beautiful and the food was perfect. What more could we ask for?
